The 2020 Women on Boards (WOB) 2017 event was held on November 15, 2017 in cities across America for C-Suite and senior level executives interested in serving on, or recruiting female board of directors. Trish Bear, I-ology CEO, was one of 25 women participating as part of the Phoenix Steering Committee for 2017. I-ology along with it’s co-sponsor, First Fidelity Bank, both financially supported this special event. This year’s national initiative was focused on “Building the Pipeline: How Do We Prepare Ourselves and Find Director Opportunities.”
2020 WOB is a grassroots campaign to raise the percentage of women on US company boards to 20% or greater by the year 2020. Diversity in the boardroom is a global priority of those responsible for board development in major corporations.
“It was amazing to be in a room full of so many powerful women all in support of one another and on the quest to utilize their talents for better outcomes in the boardroom,” says Trish Bear.
Over 6,000 people attended the national Women On Boards events in cities across the US, with thousands more joining in on social media. 2017 marks the sixth anniversary of The Conversation, and the initiative continues to celebrate companies committed to diversity in the boardroom.
