I-ology Maps a Clear Solution to Avoid Hospital Alliance Confusion
Innovative interactive map is an easy guide to the new Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Scottsdale, AZ, July 18, 2011 - The recent alliance between Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) and St. Joseph’s pediatrics expanded clinical services, staffing and patients by almost a third. Along with the opening of the new tower, wayfinding was potentially very confusing for patients and guests. To alleviate this concern, our team worked with PCH to minimize the potential mix-ups such an expansion could cause. I-ology created an easy to use interactive hospital map. This acclaimed digital application enables everyone to find their way across the expanded campus.
Developed as part of an ongoing digital marketing strategy to improve the hospital’s online communications, this three-dimensional map provides users with a complete bird’s eye view of the main campus. It also breaks services out by category-Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency/Trauma-so visitors can quickly determine where they need to go. As a result, locating the appropriate building is no problem. Not to mention the best campus entrance to use and the most direct on-site route to the facilities needed. The interactive map even indicates closest parking, hours of access and a dedicated phone number for more information.
“We love using technology to make life easier for our clients and the people they serve,” says Trish Bear, CEO of I-ology. “With this interactive map solution Phoenix Children’s Hospital can provide everyone with a single, readily available, easy-to-understand source of information to locate the services they need.”
And the medical community is taking notice of these valuable digital strategies. Ragan’s Health Care Communication News recently highlighted two key developments from I-ology for PCH, the interactive map and virtual tour. Both tools are helping elevate the hospital’s online presence and ability to serve the community.
“Utilizing technology to improve convenience and help patients, families and visitors make their time at PCH less stressful has been a focus throughout our recent expansion,” said Debra Stevens, Director, Marketing and Communications at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “I appreciate the quality of innovative solutions and creative insight I-ology provides. They help us stay connected to our community as we grow.”
