The Salvation Army hires I-ology for Christmas Angel Drive
Web site enables increased support for Arizona's children
Scottsdale, AZ – I-ology announced that The Salvation Army has selected them to create a web site for The Christmas Angel program which supports Arizona's less fortunate children during the holiday season. This is the first phase of a larger Internet strategy for The Salvation Army, which will roll out next year. The Salvation Army offers assistance 365 days a year to the Arizona community, and have selected I-ology to help leverage their web investment for improved communications, education and sponsorship.
The Salvation Army engaged I-ology to create an additional vehicle for reaching supporters. Contributions from the community have made it possible to use technology for better serving volunteers and managing donations. In a few short weeks, the Christmas Angel web site has increased interest and participation in programs and services for Arizona's children.
The Christmas Angel program has been a Valley tradition for 17 years and is co-sponsored by KTVK-3TV, WB 6/61, www.azfamily.com, and KEZ 99.9 radio. By selecting angel tags from trees in the malls throughout the community, donors are able to purchase gifts for underprivileged children. Without the support of the Salvation Army Christmas Angels, more than 55,000 children last year would have gone without on Christmas morning.
"Even those who were once beneficiaries of The Army have located us through the site," said Colonel Jan Mowery. "They are now giving back through volunteer efforts and donations to help others that are in the same situation they once were. The need is great this year so we're pleased we can provide additional assistance."
Angel tags can be found at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, Metrocenter, Superstition Springs, Chandler Fashion Center, Phoenix Spectrum Mall, Arrowhead Towne Center, Arizona Mills, Desert Sky Mall, Paradise Valley Mall, and Prescott Gateway.
