I-ology CEO Speaks to Alliance of Technology and Women on Work/Life Balance
Trish Bear tells her story of growing her business and family at the same time
(Scottsdale, Arizona- July 7, 2006) - Trish Bear, CEO and Founder of I-ology, a Scottsdale-based leading Internet strategy firm, recently spoke to a group of women (and men) in the technology field about balancing life, family and her fast-growing company.
The Alliance of Technology and Women (ATW) welcomed Ms. Bear as the main speaker to their monthly event on June 21. Each month the Phoenix chapter of ATW holds events that feature local women who are entrepreneurs and executives in the Valley's thriving technology market.
"ATW is a highly influential group of women who are pushing technology to new heights here in the Valley and across the country in other chapters. It was truly an honor to be asked to speak to this group," Says Trish Bear. "The best part of the evening was hearing the questions everyone had at the end. They were thought-provoking and showed that learning to balance work and life is a challenge everyone faces from time to time. I think I learned as much from the attendees as they learned from me."
One of the areas Ms. Bear focused on in her speech was having the courage to step back and let her team take a larger role in the day to day activities. This allowed her not only to spend more time at home with her new baby, but it gave her more time in the office to concentrate on larger goals and objectives. I-ology has grown at a rate of no less than 36% every year since its inception in 1998 and some years have seen 100% growth. The company continues to see aggressive development in 2006.
Ms. Bear currently balances her role as CEO of I-ology, seats on several boards including the Arizona Technology Council and the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, local philanthropy work and her family. She has an eight-month old daughter.
