I-ology® President Participates in WITI Mentoring Conference
Women In Technology International, Greater Phoenix Chapter
Announces "Pairing Women for Success" mentoring conference featuring panelists from high tech firms throughout the valley.
Phoenix, April 15, 2002 – Women In Technology International, Greater Phoenix Chapter (WITI, Greater Phoenix Chapter), Arizona´s leading organization for women in IT, today announced the panelists scheduled to participate in the April 30th "Pairing Women for Success" mentoring conference. The conference will be held April 30th at GateWay Community College, from 7:00am to 11:00am.
Some of the most important women in technology will participate in the "Pairing Women for Success" panel discussion, led by Dr. Lois J. Zachary, author of The Mentor´s Guide: Facilitating Effective Learning Relationships. The panel will discuss the importance of mentoring relationships and how these relationships have helped them excel in their careers.
The scheduled panelists are Joanne Carthey, Chairman of the Board, NetPro Computing, Inc., Trish Gulbranson, President, NetPro Computing, Inc., Trish Bear, President/CEO I-ology, Inc., and Jeanette K. Harrison, Director of Technology Manufacturing Group, Intel. "We are fortunate to have this special panel of women participate in our mentoring conference and sharing their mentoring experiences. At the conference, we will be offering women the opportunity to participate in our long term mentoring program," states Tracy Peck, Regional Director of WITI, Greater Phoenix Chapter.

Not only have the mentors in my life highly contributed to my personal success but have also continued to be a key factor in the success of my organization," states Trish Bear, President/CEO, I-ology, Inc. Ms. Bear founded I-ology, a full-service Internet Strategy and Services firm, in 1998. Over the last 4 years, Ms. Bear´s corporation has received high level recognition; such as, being ranked in Arizona as one of the fastest growing women-owned businesses 2 years in a row in addition to being named as one of the top 50 fastest growing technology firms in the state by the Phoenix Business Journal.
Joanne Carthey is the Chairman of the Board of NetPro Computing, Inc., the company she co-founded in 1991. Ms. Carthey also served as NetPro Computing, Inc.´s President & CEO, where the company experienced 100% growth four out of its first five years and achieved countless industry honors and awards. From rankings in the 1996, 1997 and 1998 Inc. 500 to finalist in the 1996 and 1997 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year contest, Ms. Carthey achieved significant recognition for her leadership over the years. She was also recognized as the Arizona Software Association´s Software Leader of the Year for 1997. Ms. Carthey, Chairman of the Board, NetPro Computing, Inc. comments "I have been mentored and served as mentor to many women over the course of my career, and nothing is more gratifying. I´m looking forward to sharing the stories of my mentoring experiences at the WITI conference in April, with hopes that they might inspire others to be mentors".
Jeanette K. Harrison, Intel Corporation´s director of Technology Manufacturing Group Training is responsible for the organization chartered with the development and delivery of technical training for manufacturing employees worldwide. Dr. Harrison is also the co-director of Manufacturing Strategic Support, a group chartered to define the knowledge management vision for the corporation. She served as an appointed member of the AZ Governor´s Partnership for the New Economy Commission; is a member of the University of Southern California´s School of Engineering Board of Councilors; member of the Arizona State University School of Engineering Dean´s Advisory Council; an examiner for the Governor´s Quality Awards; elected board member of MATEC. Last year, she received Intel´s Worldwide Diversity Multicultural Award. "I know first hand the importance of learning from others - and gaining wisdom others already possess. So much to learn, and not nearly enough time! I have been extremely fortunate to have several truly magnificent mentors in my life that helped guide me to success. Trish Gulbranson, President, NetPro Computing, Inc., joined NetPro Computing, Inc. in 1995. She has been heavily involved in the operations and direction of the Company's financial policies, plans, and fundraising initiatives, ensuring soundness of NetPro Computing, Inc.'s financial structure. Named 2001 Technology Leader of the Year by AZSoft.net, Ms. Gulbranson has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities at both a corporate and industry level. She sits on the Board of Directors of AZSoft.net, served on the executive committee of the Enterprise Networking Association, and has co-chaired the Investing in Innovation Venture Capital Conference for five consecutive years.
