Job Position Summary
The Director of Web Technologies will act as the technical lead on new Client web strategy initiatives, collaborating with other team leads and assisting in securing long term engagements from new Clients. This executive will also be responsible for directing, overseeing, and managing all aspects of I-ology's Web technology service offerings, including P&L responsibilities for those service lines. Finally, the Director of Technology will oversee the management of I-ology's internal technology environment and managed hosting environment.
Functional Responsibilities
Web Technology Consulting Role:
- Serve as technical lead on Consulting engagements
- Collaborate with other team leads to create a best in class solution for new I-ology Clients
- Identify technical requirements for incoming projects including system integration elements, advanced technology elements and required resources to execute upon
- Maintain an excellent working knowledge of current and leading edge Web technologies
- Assist in presenting these solutions to new clients, with the ultimate goal of securing the long term engagement of these prospects
PNL Responsibility for Web technology development and project management functions:
- Act as Manager of the Technical Web Development Group; this includes:
- Overseeing technical architecture for client solutions
- Developing technical specifications for Web Development projects by working with team members and clients
- Ensure that all development work is being produced on-time and at the highest level of quality by either internal technical resources or contractors
- Identify when external resources are needed and securing those resources when appropriate
- Recruit, train and coach the Web development team, creating a world class function within I-ology
- Act as Manager of the Project Management Group; this includes:
- Working with project managers to create timeline and cost estimates for technical work
- Ensuring project management team consistently delivers on-time and on-budget
- Ensuring quality control procedures are established and adhered to
- Ensuring client communication is solid and scope is managed properly and efficiently
- Ensuring cross-sell and up-sell opportunities are explored and leveraged, when applicable
- Recruit, train and coach the project management team, creating a world class function within I-ology
Management of Managed Hosting Service Line:
- Act as Manager of the Managed Services Group; Hosting and email hosting services. This includes:
- Driving the operational efficiency of the Managed Services group. This will be seen in lower overall costs, better service, and higher gross margins
- Maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards
- Continue development of the I-ology managed service offering
- Manage relationships with all applicable managed services vendors
Company IT Management:
- Manage internal IT needs, this includes:
- Maintenance, research and purchasing of IT essentials
- Manage relationships with all applicable IT vendors
- Responsible for research, development, implementation and maintenance of company-wide software initiatives
- Act hands on solving technical issues internally and externally when necessary
Leadership:
- Be an active participant on the management team, consisting of:
- Assisting in the long term strategic planning for the company
- Collaborating on creating annual strategic plans
- Overseeing the execution of tactical plans on a monthly basis
- Serving as a champion of the I-ology Vision and Mission
- Acting as an advocate for the I-ology brand and overall company profitability in every facet of the company
- Promoting I-ology out in the community in every aspect
Areas of Knowledge
Education: Four year college degree
Experience: Five years experience with three years of senior technical experience, preferably within an Internet-focused professional services company. Must be an expert at designing, architecting, developing and implement cutting edge Microsoft .NET solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Develop and implement procedures
- Seven to ten years of technical experience
- Four year college degree
- 4+ years of advanced web development experience using the aforementioned programming languages, software, and hardware
- Internet-focused professional services company experience a plus
- Expertise in designing, architecting, developing and implement cutting edge Microsoft solutions.
- Microsoft certifications preferred
Special Requirements
- Some travel required in Arizona
- Off hours on call availability in the case of emergency
