Director of Web Technologies

Job Position Summary

The Director of Web Technologies will act as the technical lead on new Client web strategy initiatives, collaborating with other team leads and assisting in securing long term engagements from new Clients. This executive will also be responsible for directing, overseeing, and managing all aspects of I-ology’s Web technology service offerings, including P&L responsibilities for those service lines. Finally, the Director of Web Technologies will oversee the management of I-ology’s internal technology environment and managed hosting environment.

Functional Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Be an active participant on the management team, consisting of:
    • Assisting in the long term strategic planning for the company
    • Oversee the execution of tactical plans
    • Serve as a champion of the I-ology Vision and Mission
    • Act as an advocate for the I-ology brand and overall company profitability in every facet of the company
    • Promote I-ology in the larger business and technology community

Web Technology Consulting Role:

  • Serve as the Web Technical Strategist on new and existing Client consulting engagements
  • Collaborate with other team leads to create best-in-class solutions for new & existing I-ology Clients
  • Identify technical requirements for incoming projects including system integration elements, advanced technology elements and required resources to execute upon
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of current and leading edge Web technologies
  • Assist in presenting these solutions to new clients, with the ultimate goal of securing the long term engagement of these prospects

Oversee, Direct & Manage Web development and project management functions:

  • Achieve revenue & gross profit goals on all Web development functions, including new development projects and ongoing maintenance of client Web sites
  • Grow both revenue & gross profit annually
  • Manage the Technical Web Development Group; including:
    • Overseeing technical architecture for client solutions
    • Developing technical specifications for Web Development projects
    • Ensuring on-time production and high quality execution by both internal resources & external sub-contractors
    • Identify when external resources are needed and secure those resources when applicable
    • Recruit, train and coach the Web development team, creating a world class function within I-ology
  • Manage the Project Management Group including:
    • Working with project managers to create timeline and cost estimates for technical work
    • Ensure the project management team consistently delivers on-time and on-budget
    • Ensure quality control procedures are established and adhered to
    • Ensure client communications are solid and project scope is managed properly and efficiently
    • Ensure cross-sell and up-sell opportunities are explored and leveraged, when applicable
    • Recruit, train and coach the project management team, creating a world class function within I-ology

Manage Hosting Service Line:

  • Oversee, direct & manage Web hosting and email hosting services including:
    • Achieve revenue & gross profit goals of I-ologys’ Managed Hosting service line
    • Grow both revenue & gross profit annually
    • Drive the operational efficiency of Managed Services. This will be seen in lower overall costs, better service, and higher gross margins
    • Maintain Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards
    • Identify opportunities to further develop the I-ology managed service offering
    • Manage relationships with all applicable managed services vendors

Company IT Management:

  • Manage internal IT needs including:
    • Identify & implement cutting edge technology which allows I-ology resources to operate effectively and efficiently as a world class team
    • Maintain, research and purchase IT essentials
    • Manage relationships with all applicable IT vendors
    • Responsible for research, development, implementation and maintenance of company-wide software initiatives
    • Solve any and all technical issues

Areas of Knowledge

Education: Bachelors, MBA preferred

Experience: 8-10 years of technology experience with four years+ of Web specific experience, preferably within a professional services company. Must be an expert at designing, architecting, developing and implement cutting edge Microsoft .NET solutions.

  • Handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Eight to ten years of technical experience
  • Advanced web development experience using Web programming languages, software, and hardware
  • Internet-focused professional services company experience preferred
  • Expertise in designing, architecting, developing and implement cutting edge Microsoft solutions
  • Microsoft certifications preferred

Special Requirements

  • Some travel required in Arizona
  • Off hours on call availability in the case of emergency
